Hello out there

Hi Everyone,

My name is Duckie and no I am not a member of the water fowl family.  I am a very handsome greyhound who has retired from a life of racing and is ready to find my forever home.

I am currently living with my foster mom and two lady greyhounds.  We all get along OK but there is a lot of jealousy on their part.  I like to climb up in my foster mom's lap and give her lots of kisses.  Mom seems to like it, but the ladies are not that happy.  Haven't they ever heard of sharing?

I have a pretty good life here.  I sleep in my crate at night and it is soft and spacious and quiet, unlike the kennel I was used to.  When I wake up, I go outside and "do my business" and then I am ready for my breakfast.  Yum!  I like to eat.  Then I run around the house some and see what interesting things I can find to chew on.  There are lots of toys here, but sometimes I find other things that interest me.  I especially like socks and shoes.  They have the best smells.  After a few minutes it is time to take a nap.  There are lots of good beds here, so I pick the one that I like the best and snooze.  At mid day, I wake up and we all go outside for a run.  We have a big yard and I can chase the ladies around and play with them.  Sometimes mom comes out and runs with us too and that is really fun.  She looks funny when she tries to run and we secretively laugh at her.  Then it is nap time again followed by a good dinner.  Did I mention I love to eat? After dinner, it is play time again.  I like to take toys and run all over the house with them.  Sometimes I play that they are trying to get away so I have to shake them to get them in line.  It is a really fun game.  Then we go out again before bed time.  That has been a pretty cold time here recently.  I try to get my business taken care of and come right back in the house.  When there was snow on the ground, I had to be careful because I am almost all white and I blended in with the snow and no one could see me.  That could be fun, but it also could be scary.  After turn out, we go to bed and the whole routine starts again.

I adjusted to my foster home pretty quickly (thanks to the ladies).  The only problem I have now is glass doors.  I don't always see there is glass and I have bumped my head a couple of time.  It really doesn't hurt that much and my mom loves on me a lot when it happens so that makes it OK.

If you think I would be a good addition to your family, give the folks at GEGR a call and find out more about me.  I like it here, but I am ready for my forever home.

Thanks for readying about me,
Duckie
